Welcome to the Peace through Tourism Initiative
Peace Through Tourism (a registered trademark of IIPT) is a proactive travel industry awareness initiative made up of tourism-related companies and committed individuals who believe that Travel & Tourism is a positive force for peace. What began as a response to the UN’s International Year of Peace and Trust, has become a growing movement of Industry Peace Advocates working together to create awareness and to foster new pathways for peacebuilding through travel, at home & abroad.
Peacebuilding has always been a part of our industry's DNA—every travel journey creates opportunities for understanding, inclusion, stewardship, and bridge-building across divides. Our objective is to expand on what is already in motion, evolving our mindset from being passionate Tourism Providers to becoming purposeful Peace Advocates, while transforming our travelers' outlook from being ordinary tourists to thoughtful Global Citizens and future Ambassadors for Peace.
